The exceptional service provided to clients by a Derbyshire-based engineering firm has been recognised with a prestigious industry award.
Greenbank Engineering Services (GES) was named Supplier of the Year by the Materials Handling Engineers Association (MHEA) after successfully delivering a series of projects for the rail industry.
Working closely with rolling stock specialists Loram UK, it has led the development and manufacture of rail grinding vehicles used to maintain tracks used for transporting coal and other heavy materials on mainline railways in Europe.
Part of the Woodville-based Greenbank Group, GES was responsible for the manufacture of key components to certified welding standards. Previously, Greenbank had worked with Loram on the development of cabs for similar prototype vehicles in the USA.
Charles Conroy, Greenbank Managing Director, commented: “We are delighted to receive this award and for the recognition from fellow engineers.
“It also reflects our commitment to going the extra mile to meet the bespoke needs of clients and partners as we look to grow and diversify.”
Engineering Manager Aran Harper, who led on the project and collected the award on behalf of Greenbank, added: “Thanks to our extensive experience, manufacturing flexibility and unrivalled expertise in welding different types of metals and alloys, we were able to deliver a world-class service at minimum cost to a valued client.
“The project clearly demonstrated Greenbank’s ability to work in close collaboration with supply chain partners to deliver cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.”
