Sales Engineer

Work Location: Woodville, Swadlincote, Derbyshire or Derby, Derbshire.

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Greenbank Engineering Services is looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to promote and sell our comprehensive turnkey solutions for bespoke jigs, fixtures, and special-purpose machines to both existing clients and new prospects, promoting strong business relationships and driving revenue growth.

Main Duties

  • Actively promote and sell turnkey solutions for jigs, fixtures, and special-purpose machines to existing and prospective clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand the client base.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Provide concise and accurate daily reports to the head office via electronic media, summarising information gathered, actions required, and planned follow-up related to client and competitor activities.
  • Conduct client meetings and presentations.
  • Ensure that all reports are submitted within the same day of client visits or interactions.
  • Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements along with the engineering team
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales and project delivery process.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure project specifications are clearly communicated for proposals to be formulated and provided for you.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and business development efforts.
  • Monitor and analyse industry trends to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of competitors.
  • Conduct research to identify emerging market trends and potential areas for growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Generate enquiries in line with budgets and targets set.
  • Post order award activity will be required to ensure customer satisfaction and development of future opportunities.
  • Travel throughout the UK and overseas if required .
  • Support existing sales and contract staff where required.
  • Self-organise and prioritise work load with regular review and planning meetings with Managing Director.
  • Actively promote other parts of the group where appropriate, identifying and sharing opportunities that could benefit the wider group’s sales efforts

Essential Qualities

  • Previous experience working in a similar sales role.
  • Previous experience working within the engineering industry.
