Franklyn Yates Engineering is now in a position to offer free Health and Wellbeing Checks to all of its employees. We are one of the first companies in the construction industry to offer this service. It is similar to the NHS Health Check offered to those age 40-74 by GP practices, which is based on the best scientific evidence from Britain, and is designed to improve people's lives. The service will be delivered by our Responsible Medical Officer; Dr M Kaye, and we encourage all of our employees to take full advantage of this opportunity to discuss their health requirements with a trained professional.
The Health and Wellbeing Check is an opportunity for all Franklyn Yates employees to check their 'heart health'. It assesses circulatory health and works out the risk of developing some of the most disabling, but preventable illnesses, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
During the assessment, questions are asked about lifestyle and family medical history. Among other things, blood pressure and cholesterol will be measured and the results given to the individual. After the results have been explained, personalised advice about reducing risk and improving health will be offered and in some cases the employee may be encouraged to seek further investigations from their own GP.
Franklyn Yates believes in the importance of health and wellbeing for all of its employees and that this initiative will help reduce ill health by early identification of those at risk, enabling them to make changes and live better for longer.
