Greenbank Group today (Friday, December 19) completed the acquisition/transfer of Hargreaves Engineering Contracts' (HEC) manufacturing facility and employees as part of a deal that will boost the firm’s manufacturing capabilities.
A division of Hargreaves Industrial Services (HIS), HEC’s manufacturing facility in Creswell, near Worksop will now come under the control of Derbyshire-based Greenbank.
Charles Conroy, Greenbank Managing Director, explained: “We are delighted at this latest acquisition, which brings us additional manufacturing capacity whilst broadening our customer base.
“We also hope to strengthen our long-standing relationship with HIS, which is itself part of Hargreaves Plc, and build on the synergies between the two companies.”
Currently the Creswell workshop provides machining, fitting and fabrication services to heavy industry and particularly the energy generation sector.
Following the acquisition, which was completed for an undisclosed sum, HEC's manufacturing facility will now operate as Greenbank Engineering Contracts Ltd,
Mr Conroy added: “In the long term we aim to build on the skills, team and facilities at the Creswell facility and hope that new jobs will be created as we continue to expand into new industry sectors.”
